Aizawl: Hannah Khiangte secured the ELLE Fashion Voice of the Year 2026 award. The ELLE Style Awards ceremony took place in New Delhi on September 22. Khiangte earns acclaim for blending traditional Mizo puan textiles with modern silhouettes. She keeps the culture alive. Her label, founded in 2013, works directly with Mizoram artisans and weavers to update regional craft.
The designer dedicated her win to the Zo community and the Northeast. She posted her reaction online. "The award was a reminder that the stories, culture and creative work of the region deserve to be seen and celebrated," she stated. She thanked ELLE India, her family, and her creative team for the support.
Khiangte maintains a strong profile in the industry. Vogue India, Grazia India, and GQ India have featured her work. High-profile clients like Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon wear her designs. These collaborations put Mizo motifs on national and global stages. The ELLE honor marks another step in her push to move traditional Mizo craft into the mainstream.
