Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma held the sixth Mi-PRAGATI meeting on September 23 to force progress on stalled infrastructure work. He demanded faster repairs for the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project. Federal representatives joined the conference hall session virtually to discuss these roadblocks. They addressed compensation disputes and crumbling road stretches.
The 109.2-km Paletwa-Kaletwa-Zochachhuah road currently shows 23.35 per cent physical progress and 30 per cent financial progress. Officials are managing this route under the Ministry of External Affairs. Railway authorities mapped out the proposed line linking Sairang to Hmawngbuchhuah in the Lawngtlai district. They also inspected recent upgrades at Sairang station.
Border security took center stage. The Ministry of Home Affairs updated leadership on the India-Bangladesh border fencing and road project, specifically the Rajiv Nagar stretch. Official sources confirmed the scope of the agenda, noting that "follow-up action on decisions taken during previous meetings" remained a priority.
The administration also took aim at digital threats. The State Cyber Crime Coordination Centre reported on its efforts to stop cybercrime and cases of digital arrest. Finally, the group examined unresolved issues affecting the Aizawl-Tuipang National Highway. The state government intends to track these goals in future meetings.
