Aizawl: Chief Minister Lalduhoma inaugurated a workshop for disciplinary authorities in Aizawl this week, aiming to boost accountability and efficiency within public service. The event, held at the ATI Auditorium, emphasized the state's drive to foster greater punctuality and dedication among government officials.
To achieve these goals, the administration plans to establish Service Review Committees in every department. These groups will identify non-performing staff, and the government is currently considering special pension schemes to facilitate transitions where necessary. Lalduhoma stated that these steps are vital for improving overall governance and service delivery.
The Chief Minister instructed enquiry officers to maintain strict objectivity and avoid bias when reviewing cases. To support this standard, the government has increased honorariums for inquiry and presenting officers to align with Central Government rates. Officials will also be selected with greater care to ensure fair investigations.
The Vigilance Department reported that several departments, including Agriculture and Tourism, recorded zero vigilance cases as of March 2026. The Chief Minister urged other departments to follow this example. The session featured insights from Vigilance Secretary Dr. YLN Reddy and Acting Chief Secretary Sudhir Kumar, followed by training on disciplinary procedures.
