Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma wants the public to help fight graft. One agency cannot stop corruption alone. He demanded that citizens and government employees work together to scrub the state clean of shady dealings. He called the issue a major roadblock to development.
Lalduhoma spoke at the release of the Anti-Corruption Bureau annual report on Thursday. He said the state bolstered the Bureau and the Mizoram Lokayukta to sharpen their teeth. The Chief Minister expects these offices to keep growing their professional skills.
The report serves as a warning. Government workers must handle their jobs with honesty, accountability, and financial caution. Lalduhoma stated, "the challenge cannot be tackled by a single agency and requires the participation of both citizens and government employees."
Numbers show steady legal pressure. From 2010 to 2026, the Bureau won 112 convictions across 35 cases tried in the Special Court. During the 2025-26 window, the Bureau got 17 complaints. Agents opened 15 preliminary inquiries and filed six new criminal cases. They finished 14 preliminary probes and wrapped up seven regular cases during that same time.
