Kohima: Longsa Village Council members torched two cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor on July 4. They seized the stash within the village limits. The destruction happened in front of residents and local officials to send a message. The village holds a firm no-alcohol and no-intoxicants policy.

Council leaders warned residents to stop the sale, storage, or transit of booze. Anyone caught breaking the standing resolution will face punishment under local rules. The council remains clear on its intent. "The council also appealed to villagers to cooperate in maintaining a healthy, peaceful, and drug-free community by reporting any such illegal activities to the authorities."

Officials expect full compliance from the community. They want to keep the area clean. The council plans to enforce these rules without exception.
