Kohima: District leaders met Thursday in Kohima to audit construction at two new Eklavya Model Residential Schools. Deputy Commissioner B. Henok Buchem led the review at his office. The committee analyzed current work on the Chiechama and Botsa sites to meet deadlines set by the National Education Society for Tribal Students.

Work at Chiechama hit 62.3 percent completion. Teams focused on the 2-km access road from the highway, power lines, and water pipes. The Botsa site sits at 21.47 percent progress with crews tackling water connectivity issues.

Officials from the police, administration, and Tribal Affairs Department attended the briefing. They must sync their efforts to meet the 2027 finish line. Buchem pressed the departments for speed. He stated, "work in close coordination to ensure timely completion of the projects so that students can benefit from the facilities at the earliest."
