Kohima: Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, put supervisors on notice during a training session at the DC's Conference Hall on Tuesday. He demanded a total command of Election Commission of India guidelines for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll. Accuracy matters. The goal remains simple: pull in every eligible voter and strip out the ineligible.
Buchem warned that the Election Commission watches these revisions with a sharp eye for any mistakes. Officials must stick to the rulebook. Supervisors, Electoral Registration Officers, and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers will eventually train Booth Level Officers for this job. They also serve as the frontline for questions from political parties, community leaders, and the public. Success hinges on preparedness. Buchem told the staff to keep all instructions and frequently asked questions "at their fingertips" to handle inquiries with confidence.
Training sessions for this electoral overhaul are already underway across the district. These meetings focus on the documentation and procedures necessary for a clean, credible process. Officials expect these teams to master the technical details before the formal rollout begins.
