Kohima: Kiphire health workers wrapped up their Anti-Malaria Month campaign this week. The push ran from June 1 through June 30 across the district. Teams aimed to cut down on mosquito breeding grounds and get more people into treatment early.
The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme hit the ground hard. They ran health camps and distributed nets. They held talks on sanitation to keep the bugs away. Students, church leaders, and locals pitched in to help the effort.
The group handed out Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets to families. They pushed for better yard care to stop standing water. Officials hope the habits stick after the month ends. The team wants everyone to stay alert for symptoms and seek medical help fast.
Organizers say the fight is a group effort. They hope to keep the district safe from the disease long-term. As officials noted, "community participation and collective action are vital to achieving a malaria-free society." Everyone must keep using their nets to make that happen.
