Imphal: Manipur Police and the Indian Army dismantled a makeshift insurgent camp Tuesday morning. The raid took place around 4 am in a forested area near K. Thenjang village, Churachandpur district. Personnel from the 19 Garhwal Rifles led the push as part of an intensified effort to track down illegal armed groups. Forces found the site deserted. No militants were apprehended during the operation.

The sweep turned up a cache of lethal hardware. Recovered items include four sophisticated rifles, a 4-kg conical improvised explosive device, and four bulletproof jackets. Teams also logged two helmets, seven spent AK-47 cartridge cases, four spent 7.62 mm cartridge cases, and a radio set charger. Authorities transferred the gear to the local police station for processing.

Official reports confirm the haul as part of broader anti-insurgency measures. According to the Manipur Police, the recovery is part of "ongoing search operations in the district." Security forces remain focused on groups operating outside the Suspension of Operations framework, specifically those linked to territorial clashes and ambushes.
