Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda on Friday, September 11. He marked the anniversary of the 1893 Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago. Vivekananda left a mark on history that day. He addressed the crowd with the iconic opening, "Sisters and Brothers of America."
Sarma noted the speech captivated the audience. It introduced the core principles of Sanatana Dharma to the West. The address served to present India as an ancient civilization and a spiritual beacon. Sarma highlighted the focus on universal tolerance and mutual acceptance.
