Guwahati: The New Guwahati Anchalik Puja Samiti, located on Ganesh Mandir Road, secured a spot on the shortlist for the Devi Shakti Samman 2026. This award honors the city's top Durga Puja celebrations. Three other committees joined them on the list: the Sunflower Club of Bishnupur in Bimola Nagar, the Kalibari Parichalana Durga Puja at Maligaon Gate 1, and the Jai Hind Club of Pandu.

PC Jewellers and Republic TV run the program. They spent months scouting celebrations. Judges visited all four sites on Sunday, October 18, between 10.30 am and 2 pm. They handed out trophies and cheques directly at the venues. Organizers had requested that representatives stay at their pandals during these hours to accept the honors.

The committees dedicate months to planning their events. This award highlights that labor. As the organizers noted regarding the recognition of these efforts, the award "acknowledges the efforts of the shortlisted committees, whose annual celebrations involve months of preparation and coordination ahead of the Durga Puja festivities."
