Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed the government destroyed the Shahzad Bhatti Network before Independence Day. Authorities believe the network operates with backing from the ISI. Security forces moved fast. They executed coordinated operations across 14 states, resulting in the arrests of more than 200 suspected operatives.

Officers seized a cache of dangerous hardware during the raids. Recoveries included improvised explosive devices, grenades marked by the Pakistan Ordnance Factory, pistols, live cartridges, and CCTV cameras allegedly used for spying. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed his state recently arrested two individuals connected to this group.

Sarma praised the operation as a major win for national security. He noted that the crackdown dealt a heavy blow to the network and stopped a planned attack. In a post on X, he stated, "This is a BIG breakthrough in India's fight against terror." He credited the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah for tearing apart enemy designs.
