Agartala: A tragic accident in Tripura's Longtharai Valley left four labourers dead and six others injured after a dumper truck carrying stone chips overturned. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon near Naisarampada under the jurisdiction of the Manikpur Police Station.

According to local officials, the vehicle was traveling from Manikpur when the driver lost control, likely due to the poor state of the road and the heavy weight of the construction materials. The dumper tipped over, trapping several workers underneath. Personnel from a nearby Border Security Force camp arrived quickly to assist with rescue efforts and transport the victims to the Chhaimanu Primary Health Centre.

Medical staff at the facility confirmed the deaths of Bolidhanjay Tripura, 47, Majida Tripura, 50, Bathojay Tripura, 39, and Narjay Tripura, 36. Of the six surviving workers, one remains in critical condition while the others are reported to be in stable condition. Manikpur Police have registered a formal case regarding the mishap and have initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
