Agartala: A violent blast tore through an apartment in Agartala on Thursday. The explosion hit the NS Apartment complex in the Ramnagar area, leaving one person in critical condition. Medics rushed the victim to Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital to treat severe burn wounds. Panic gripped the building as the force of the blast ripped through the structure.

Debris and glass littered the floors. At least 12 flats sustained damage from the shockwave. Window panes shattered and doors buckled in nearby units. While several residents suffered minor cuts from flying debris, no others required hospitalization. The flat served as a private office space.

Police and fire crews secured the scene to begin a probe. Authorities have yet to identify exactly what triggered the detonation. Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder inspected the wreckage and promised a deep look into the building's safety standards. He told reporters, "The impact of the explosion was significant, and several adjacent flats were affected. The matter will be investigated thoroughly. The safety and security of the people remain our priority."

Forensic teams will now comb through the remains. Officials are weighing whether additional safeguards are needed for buildings housing both residents and businesses. Residents are demanding quick answers to prevent a repeat of the disaster.
