Kohima: The Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organization has publicly accused the Nagaland government of reversing its position on the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority agreement. In a statement released on May 30, the organization claimed the state administration made a sudden U-turn regarding critical provisions outlined in the deal.
This development follows the formal signing of a Memorandum of Agreement on February 5, 2026, in New Delhi. That meeting included Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, and representatives from the organization. The latest accusations highlight growing friction between the state leadership and the regional group tasked with implementing the new territorial authority.
