Electoral Observer Inspects Noney Voter Roll Revision

Imphal: Electoral Roll Observer Mohan Lal Meena visited Noney district today to oversee the Special Intensive Revision of local voter rolls. Deputy Commissioner Vidhyamari Sridhar met the IAS officer at the District Election Office in Longmai. The team included the Electoral Registration Officer and assistants for the 54-Nungba ST Assembly Constituency.

Meena checked 20 applications from Forms 6, 7, and 8 to vet the transparency of the current work. He pushed political party representatives for better cooperation. He wants an error-free list. This is vital for election integrity.

The observer then headed to Polling Station 544 at Peace Lane. He checked field verification records and spoke with election staff on the ground. The Election Commission intends to keep the roll clean. Meena stated, "The visit reaffirmed the Election Commission's commitment to a transparent and comprehensive revision of the electoral rolls."
