Kohima: The Eastern Konyak Union (EKU) visited the Konyak Union headquarters in Mon on July 28. They came to offer solidarity and financial aid following a recent landslide in the district. The delegation included president P M Aman, general secretary K Akham Honwang, finance secretary Ashah V Anok, and advisor R Manjai.
The group met with Mon officials to present their contribution to the local catastrophe relief fund. They offered prayers for the victims and the injured. The delegation also thanked the Konyak Baptist Church for providing hospitality during their stay.
President P M Aman addressed the attendees during the visit. He stated, "The financial contribution was a humble gesture of support for the people of Mon." Aman noted that while an international border sits between the two communities, it does not break their shared culture or kinship.
The EKU hopes this aid effort strengthens ties between the two nations. They remain committed to supporting the people of Mon through these recovery efforts. Both organizations spent time in prayer for those still working on the front lines of the relief mission.
