East Dimapur Town Council members complete urban governance training

Kohima: Councillors from the East Dimapur Town Council recently finished a three-day training program focused on local self-government for urban bodies. The sessions were held in Kolkata and hosted by the All India Institute of Local Self Government.

The initiative aimed to provide council members with practical expertise in municipal management. The curriculum covered essential topics including waste segregation, sanitation practices, and strategies for improving local revenue generation to boost overall service delivery.

Hekani Jakhalu, the advisor for Industries and Commerce, sponsored the trip. The council members praised her efforts, stating that they were "acknowledging her visionary leadership and support in facilitating the initiative" throughout the process.
