Kohima: Dimapur Police teamed up with the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research to sharpen trauma response skills. They held a two-day training session on July 23 and 24. Twenty-five traffic officers attended. These officers often reach crash sites before anyone else. Proper handling saves lives. Quick intervention during the golden hour reduces fatalities and permanent disability.
The Department of Emergency Medicine at CIHSR led the hands-on instruction. They focused on stabilization, extraction, and transport techniques. The sessions aimed to fix gaps in how victims are handled immediately after a wreck. Improper care causes avoidable deaths.
Commissioner of Police Aotula T Imchen thanked the CIHSR staff for their help. She noted that the program improves trauma outcomes across the region. "The programme marked a significant step towards strengthening emergency response capabilities and improving trauma care outcomes for road accident victims in Nagaland," Imchen said. Officers received their certificates when the training wrapped up.
