Kohima: Dimapur Traffic Police descended on Pranab College this Wednesday. They held a seminar focused on turning reckless teenagers into safe drivers. Rash driving currently plagues the district. Students packed the auditorium to hear how they should actually behave behind the wheel.
ACP Zubenthung Ezung took the floor to break down the primary reasons for local crashes. He demanded better manners on the road. Drivers need to pull over for sirens. He noted the need for motorists to observe proper road etiquette, particularly by "giving way to emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire trucks, security vehicles, and police vehicles."
Sub-inspectors Bokato and Y Lipenthung Patton walked the room through the Motor Vehicles Act. They explained how the law punishes bad driving. They also provided a breakdown of standard traffic signals. The session aimed to stop the dangerous habits that often lead to fatalities.
The college faculty managed the event logistics. Ulla Laureen Fernandez chaired the meeting. Dr. Sanjukta Bhattacharjee introduced the guests, and Dr. Alomi Cynthia Shikhu closed the day with final remarks.
