Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union Celebrates 11th Academic Excellency Awards

Kohima: The Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union recently held its 11th Academic Excellency Award ceremony at Lotha Hoho Ki. The event, themed Nurturing Dreams, Recognising Support, honored students who demonstrated outstanding results in their recent examinations.

Eyilo Kikon earned the Late Sanchisao Lotha family award after achieving a 94 percent score in the HSLC examination. Several other students received awards for their performance in the HSSLC streams, including Mhashan N. Ezung, Yampothung Michael Jami, Mhonjan Ezung, and Yilobemo Kikon. Additionally, Christ School Ekhyo Yan received recognition for maintaining a 100 percent pass rate in the HSLC examination.

Special guest Er. Orenvungo S. Ovung, SDO of the Electrical Sub Division in Dimapur, spoke to the students about the necessity of dedication. He encouraged them to remain consistent, put God first, and create their own “recipe” for success.

Theme speaker Dr. Meripeni Ngully, a retired vice principal from Dimapur Government College, discussed the importance of active dreams and the critical role parents play in supporting their children. The ceremony also included educational segments, such as a presentation on pet and street dog care by Marian Yaden of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The event featured various cultural contributions, including a history of the award sponsors and performances by the DLCU choir. Representatives from several local organizations, including the Dimapur Lotha Hoho and Dimapur Eloe Ekhung, offered greetings to the award recipients and their families.
