Dimapur District Lotha Gaon Bura Union Celebrates 20 Years of Service

Kohima: The Dimapur District Lotha Gaon Bura (GB) Union recently marked its 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of commitment to community service. Members, local leaders, and supporters gathered on June 12 for the commemorative event, which was chaired by General Secretary Yanbothung Kikon.

The program opened with an invocation by Rev. Dr. Yanbemo Lotha, the senior pastor of Dimapur Lotha Baptist Church. Following a welcome address from Treasurer Nyimpomo Ngullie, speakers including Lotha Hoho Dimapur Chairman Thungchaithung Murry and Dr. Polaud Lotha lauded the union for its longevity. They emphasized the critical role Gaon Buras serve in maintaining social harmony, promoting unity, and preserving the traditions of the Lotha community.

Chief Guest G. K. Rengma praised the union for its persistent dedication and recognized the impact village leaders have on grassroots administration and local development. During his address, he challenged the members to lead with integrity, stating, "urged members to remain united and continue serving society with sincerity, wisdom and commitment."

The event also served as a moment of reflection, as attendees observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of departed Gaon Buras. Vice President Nyimbemo Mozhü offered the final vote of thanks to the participants, and the celebration concluded with a benediction led by Eramo Phyobhio Odyuo followed by a community lunch.
