Kohima: The Dimapur District Congress Committee launched the Chhatron Ki Goonj campaign on July 1 to take aim at a broken education system. Led by president Kutoho Chishi at the Congress Bhavan, the group signaled they are fed up with recurring exam scandals. They want change now.
Chishi condemned the steady stream of leaked question papers and botched recruitment drives. He argued that these failures crush the dreams of millions of students. The party demands the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. They hold him responsible for the wreckage of the nation's exam integrity.
State Minority chairman Javed Sarwar backed the call. He pointed to rising joblessness despite India holding the title of the world's youngest nation. The system is failing the kids. NSUI Nagaland president X Chophika claimed the protest captures the deep anger felt by students nationwide. "The campaign reflects the pain and frustration of millions of young Indians," Chophika said.
The movement grew out of Rahul Gandhi’s recent talk with aspirants in Kota. Those students face constant uncertainty regarding exams like the NEET. The Dimapur committee ended their event with a screening of Gandhi’s speech and a signature drive to gather support from local students.
