Kohima: The 78th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force hit Sechüma village in Kohima district on Friday. They handed out carpenter tools to local residents. The mission aims to spark job growth and push self-reliance. It is a direct response to a plea from the village council chairman.
He flagged a shortage of equipment for local workers. Now, the gear is in their hands. Officers and local council members gathered for the event. Peterhrietuo Nipu, the Sechüma Village Council chairman, thanked the soldiers for the gear. He said, "The initiative would help improve livelihoods, develop vocational skills and empower residents to become economically self-reliant."
Villagers lined up to receive the support. This work tightens the bond between the force and the community. It focuses on long-term welfare and new skills. The battalion expects the tools to build a stronger local economy.
