Aizawl: The Border Security Force (BSF) Mizoram and Cachar Frontier celebrated World Environment Day with a widespread tree planting campaign spanning Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, and Nagaland. Personnel at the Frontier Headquarters in Masimpur joined forces with those stationed at various sector headquarters, battalions, and remote border outposts to plant a variety of indigenous saplings.

Ravi Kant, the Inspector General of the BSF Mizoram and Cachar Frontier, led the primary event at the Masimpur headquarters. The campaign brought together officers, soldiers, their families, local community leaders, and students to foster collective environmental responsibility.

During the event, Ravi Kant emphasized the necessity of ecological preservation. He stated, "Every tree planted is an investment in a healthier and more sustainable future." He encouraged all personnel to maintain this momentum by continuing to prioritize environmentally responsible practices alongside their primary duty of border security.

The initiative aimed to increase local green cover and raise awareness regarding environmental stewardship. The BSF noted that the drive serves as part of the force's broader mission to balance national security with a dedication to social and environmental sustainability.
