Guwahati: Guwahati police have arrested two men accused of orchestrating a series of thefts across the city. The suspects, identified as Rocky Das from Bongaigaon and Rahul Choudhury from Barpeta, were taken into custody by Basistha police following a targeted operation based on intelligence and surveillance.

Authorities recovered a scooter and a collection of burglary tools used by the pair to break locks during their late-night operations. Officials believe the duo targeted various residential areas over the past few months. Both men are currently under interrogation to uncover their potential involvement in other unresolved property crimes within Guwahati and surrounding districts.

These arrests arrive as Assam faces an uptick in burglary and theft reports. In response, law enforcement agencies have increased night patrols and implemented stricter surveillance to dismantle criminal networks. Police officials have urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious behavior as they continue their investigation into the recovered evidence.
