Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is looking to secure partnerships with more than 250 European companies to create new economic opportunities for the state. The initiative aims to support youth, farmers, and women entrepreneurs by fostering collaboration with businesses operating under the Federation of European Business in India.

Sarma confirmed the move following discussions with the Federation of European Business in India, which is currently visiting the state alongside the European Union delegation. Regarding the meeting, Sarma wrote on X, "We had a very productive discussion with FEBI, which is accompanying the EU in India delegation to Assam."

The Federation of European Business in India represents a broad network of over 6,000 businesses. Assam officials intend to engage with this network to attract investment and drive industrial growth. Sarma pointed to the state's skilled workforce and tailored incentive policies as key advantages for potential partners. The government is specifically targeting interest in sectors such as renewable energy, agri-processing, and other emerging industries.
