Guwahati: An assistant to an Assam Civil Service officer was found dead at a home in the Hatigaon area of Guwahati on Monday. Authorities identified the man as Biswajit Buragohain, who originally hailed from the Sivasagar district.
Police discovered the body at House number 3 on Sewali Path after receiving reports about the situation. Initial findings suggest the man may have been dead for approximately two days before he was located.
Officers arrived on the scene to secure the area and begin an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death. The body was transported to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital to undergo a post-mortem examination. Police stated they have "initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the death." Officials are currently waiting for the autopsy results to provide further clarity on the case.
