Kohima: Assam Rifles ran a free medical camp in Chiephobozou on October 26. The event operated under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme for 2026 to 2027. It brought basic care to locals.
Three doctors staffed the clinic. The team included a dental specialist, a Medical Officer, and an Ayush doctor. They handled medical consultations, blood pressure checks, and BMI assessments. The crew also performed dental exams and offered health education. Patients received free prescribed medicines.
Staff handed out walking sticks, cervical pillows, and lumbar support belts to those in need. These aids help the local population. The organizers claim the program serves a clear purpose. Assam Rifles stated the initiative is meant to help the region, noting, "Assam Rifles continues to strengthen its bond with the people of Nagaland and contribute towards community welfare."
The event aimed to boost health awareness. It improved access to care for the village. The military continues its outreach work across the state.
