Kohima: Assam Rifles medics moved into Cananram village on July 4. They brought supplies and doctors to the isolated Peren district outpost near the Manipur border. Working with CHC Tening, the force treated 72 residents.

Patients received checkups, free medicine, and advice on fighting seasonal bugs. The team hammered home the importance of nutrition and clean living. They want villagers to seek help before minor issues turn into major problems.

The unit calls itself the “Sentinels of the Northeast.” This mission serves as a clear sign of their ongoing strategy to build ties in underserved border zones. By filling gaps in local healthcare, the military aims to earn the trust of those living far from major hospitals.
