Itanagar: A 17-member delegation from the Department of Mass Communication at Arunachal Pradesh University recently visited Aizawl for a four-day media exposure tour. Led by Dr. Prem Taba and Dr. Kombong Darang, the group of 15 postgraduate students met with Mizoram Information and Public Relations Minister B. Lalchhanzova at the Civil Secretariat.

Minister Lalchhanzova welcomed the students and highlighted the importance of academic exchanges in fostering regional collaboration. He encouraged the participants to leverage their training in filmmaking, photography, and journalism to highlight the unique cultural identity and natural beauty of Arunachal Pradesh. During his address, the minister remarked, "There is a vast audience eager to learn about Arunachal's culture, geography, and traditions. Through creative storytelling and responsible media practices, you can present a new perspective of the state to the world."

The tour aims to connect classroom theory with industry practice. Throughout their stay, the students visited several prominent media organizations, including the LPS cable television network, the Vanglaini daily newspaper, and All India Radio Aizawl. They also engaged with academic institutions such as the Indian Institute of Mass Communication and Mizoram University to gain insights into media education and research.

Arunachal Pradesh IPR Minister Nyato Dukam expressed his gratitude to the Mizoram government for the warm reception. The visit provided the students with a comprehensive understanding of the media landscape in the Northeast, preparing them to act as bridges to both national and global audiences through innovative storytelling.
