Itanagar: The government of Arunachal Pradesh has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Kolkata, to establish a new export facilitation cell. This initiative aims to strengthen the state's export ecosystem and provide local businesses with a direct path to international markets.

The agreement was formalized at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar. Trade and Commerce Secretary Bullo Mamu attended the ceremony alongside Director of Trade and Commerce Sonyung Modi, IIFT Kolkata head Dr. K. Rangarajan, and consultant Sumana Das.

This new support platform will assist entrepreneurs, farmers, self-help groups, and startups with export procedures, product development, and trade documentation. It will also offer guidance on quality certification and market intelligence to help products from the state compete globally.

During the event, Mamu emphasized the importance of the new facility for the state's growth. She stated, "The establishment of the cell would play a key role in unlocking the export potential of Arunachal Pradesh by linking the state’s distinctive products with global markets."

By bringing in technical expertise and specialized training, the partnership is expected to improve the ease of doing business across the region. The project aligns with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat by focusing on economic development and export competitiveness.
