Armed Thieves Steal Ten Lakh in Gold and Cash from Tingkhong Jeweler

Guwahati: Two helmet-wearing men on a motorcycle pulled off a brazen daylight robbery in Rajgarh, Tingkhong, on October 5. They struck outside Sri Santoshi Jewellers just as owner Shivshankar Shah prepared to open for the day. The pair grabbed a bag directly from his hands and vanished.

The bag contained Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 in cash, gold jewellery worth over Rs 10 lakh, account books, and critical locker keys. Shah chased the suspects, but they slipped away. The victim confirmed the heist, noting, "The two men, who were wearing helmets and had their faces covered, approached him on a motorcycle and snatched the bag from his hands before fleeing."

Nearby CCTV cameras recorded the entire theft. Shah reported the incident to the Rajgarh police outpost. Officers are now reviewing the footage to identify and track down the two robbers.
