Itanagar: During a joint evaluation meeting held in Ziro, Lower Subansiri district, Arunachal Pradesh State Food Commission (APSFC) chairman Tarh Tarak underscored the necessity of enhancing the quality of food distribution across the state. Emphasizing that food security encompasses more than the basic availability of rations, Tarak advocated for the establishment of a specialized food testing laboratory. Such a facility would be instrumental in verifying the safety and nutritional standards of food grains supplied through government welfare initiatives.

Addressing the technical hurdles within the Public Distribution System (PDS), the chairman called for streamlined processes to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive their entitlements without interruption. Furthermore, Tarak highlighted the critical need for robust public awareness campaigns to ensure citizens are fully informed about their rights under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). These initiatives aim to foster a more transparent and efficient distribution network, reinforcing the state's commitment to equitable welfare delivery.
