Itanagar: Namsai hosted the premiere of JACKPOT this Saturday. It is the first miniseries filmed in the Tai Khamti language. The project highlights contemporary local stories, dreams, and ambition. It mixes everyday humor with difficult life choices. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein attended the event alongside the cast and production crew.
The show emphasizes local identity. Mein praised the initiative to keep native languages alive on screen. "Some stories deserve to be told not because they are grand, but because they are ours," Mein stated after the viewing. He urged young creators to keep experimenting with their own community experiences.
The debut carried a heavy weight for one local family. Cast member Chau Trinam Kapat died in a road accident on August 9. Kapat, the IPR Secretary of the All Namsai District Students' Union from Wagun-II village, did not live to see the series release. His father attended the premiere to pay his respects. The event served as both a celebration and a memorial.
Production sources expect the show to hit YouTube in the coming days. The series aims to open doors for regional writers, technicians, and actors. It brings indigenous storytelling into the modern digital age.
