Kohima: The All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association scheduled an emergency meeting for September 18. Teachers appointed before August 2010 must report to the CANSSEA Conference Hall in Kohima by 11:00 AM. The session addresses recent mandates requiring in-service staff to pass the Teacher Eligibility Test.
General Secretary Pekinto Y Jimo stated the meeting allows affected staff to air their grievances. The association seeks a lawful path forward for those serving since before the implementation of the RTE Act. ANSTA acknowledges the situation causes genuine frustration among long-term employees.
Strict conduct rules apply. Participants must avoid shouting, abuse, and personal attacks. Defamation and threats remain prohibited. The association warned that no grievance, "however genuine or serious," should become a cause for violence, intimidation, abuse, defamation or any unlawful conduct.
Attendees must follow directions from the presiding chair. The association refuses to back independent or unlawful acts. Individual teachers bear responsibility for their own behavior. All official actions require proper authorization to ensure the teaching community acts as a united, disciplined group.
