Kohima: Angami Public Organization President Thejao Vihienuo is urging citizens in Kohima to provide precise information to census officials to ensure reliable data for future development. During a recent consultative meeting with district administration and community leaders, Vihienuo emphasized that the upcoming census is a vital milestone for the state after a 26-year gap.
Vihienuo highlighted the necessity of the exercise, stating, "This census operation, which is coming to us after 26 years, is going to be a milestone in the process of development of the state and the people." He specifically cautioned residents against double entry, asking individuals to register only in their current place of residence rather than their native villages to prevent artificial inflation of data.
The process requires citizens to answer approximately 33 questions, which Vihienuo assured remain strictly confidential. He encouraged the public to cooperate fully with enumerators rather than engaging in disputes, noting that accurate reporting directly benefits state programs. Kohima Municipal Council Chairperson Neibodzelie Solo echoed these sentiments, calling on ward leaders and all residents to support the enumerators throughout the process.
