Shillong: Home Minister Amit Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi this week, noting that the country has experienced simultaneous progress in poor welfare and national development under his leadership. The remarks arrived as the Prime Minister began his historic third consecutive term and approached a milestone of 12 years in office on June 10.
Shah highlighted several achievements, including the distribution of free rations to 80 crore people, the construction of over 4 crore houses, and the rollout of widespread infrastructure projects such as 140 Vande Bharat trains and 90 new airports. He credited the government for initiatives like the new Parliament building, the Statue of Unity, and the expansion of the country's expressways. In a post on social media, Shah stated, "Modi ji has served the nation and its citizens tirelessly through these 12 years without taking even a single day off."
The Prime Minister's journey began with his first swearing-in in 2014, followed by victories in 2019 and 2024. By June 10, Modi will reach 4,399 days in office, surpassing the tenure of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, to become the country's longest-serving continuously elected leader. Reflecting on this longevity, Shah suggested that such national transformation is only possible when a leader possesses pure intent, dedication, and clear national goals.
