Guwahati: Air India Express is opening two new international flight paths from Guwahati. The airline connects the city directly to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. These non-stop routes start in August. The Assam government confirmed the news this Wednesday. The airline will begin the Guwahati-Dubai service on August 4. Flights to Abu Dhabi start on August 7.
Officials expect the move to help students, tourists, and business travelers. It targets the large Indian population living in the UAE. The Assam government stated, "The inaugural flights mark a major milestone in expanding international air connectivity from Guwahati and are expected to boost tourism, trade, and people-to-people exchanges between Northeast India and the UAE."
The airline is offering promotional prices to kick off the service. Tickets for the Dubai route start at Rs 21,188. Fares to Abu Dhabi begin at Rs 19,759. Travelers should book seats now to grab these introductory rates.
