Kohima: Advisor for the Land Resources department, G. Ikuto Zhimomi, recently called on village leaders in the Aghunato area to approach the upcoming census as a tool for regional development rather than a political exercise. During a consultative meeting held May 27 at Kukami Ki in Aghunato town, Zhimomi emphasized that prioritizing growth is essential for the region's future.

Organized by the Aghunato Area Kukami Kuqhakulu, the session brought together community leaders, known as Kukami, representing villages from Nihoshe to Khumishi. The gathering also included representatives from the Asuto area and Tizu Island. Zhimomi used the platform to invite open dialogue, asking the leaders if any of their previous resolutions had been neglected by current or former legislators.

Addressing the attendees, Zhimomi promised that any resolution passed unanimously by the village leaders would receive his full support and action. He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with local stakeholders to address specific development priorities. The advisor also signaled the region's readiness to cooperate with the government led by Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio to secure sustainable progress.

Zhimomi concluded his address by asking for public support for government initiatives. He encouraged the community to ensure that participation in official programs remains peaceful and free of disturbances to facilitate the speedy implementation of local projects.
