NSCN-K Mourns Death of Senior Commander Kakiho K Chophi

Kohima: The NSCN-K group is mourning the death of Major General Kakiho K Chophi. He died on June 30. Chophi joined the Naga national struggle in 1989 and served with dedication until his final days.

The organization’s information ministry released a statement honoring his career. They described him as a man of extreme focus who spent his life fighting for freedom and dignity. The group noted, "his legacy would continue to guide their struggle and remain lasting source of strength and inspiration."

Leadership called his death an irreparable loss for the government and the people. The NSCN-K extended its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and comrades. They are currently offering prayers and solidarity to those grieving his absence.
