Imphal: Manipur Police crippled a drug trafficking network in Churachandpur on Thursday. Officers arrested three people and seized a massive haul of illegal narcotics and cash. The haul included 186 soap cases of suspected brown sugar.

SDPO Jay Barange and Executive Magistrate Satkhogin Kilong led the operation. They started at a house in Zion Veng, New Lamka. They nabbed 48-year-old Zamngaihlian Tombing during that first search. The suspect quickly flipped on her supplier.

The investigation led teams to Pangzawl. There, officers arrested 43-year-old Niangngaihching. They found Rs 31,43,500 in cash and a machine used for counting money. Police believe the stash represents drug proceeds.

A third man, 36-year-old Manglunsang Tawtak, landed in cuffs shortly after. Police seized his white Bolero, marked MN06LX5142, along with other evidence. All suspects now sit in the Churachandpur Police Station. Police said the investigation is continuing to trace further links in the network.
