Imphal: The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has officially rejected claims made by the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) and the Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU). The organization asserts that these groups are spreading baseless accusations to implicate the ZUF in internal Kuki community conflicts.
The ZUF leadership condemned the tendency to issue public statements without conducting thorough investigations. In a formal statement, the group noted, "The ongoing practice of issuing allegations without credible evidence, thorough investigation, or factual verification is irresponsible and extremely harmful to communal harmony."
Addressing the Kuki civil society organizations, the ZUF cautioned against the continued use of political blame-shifting. The organization stated it will not accept efforts to damage its reputation or create false associations regarding local incidents. It demanded that any future claims must be supported by verifiable facts.
Beyond addressing these specific allegations, the ZUF reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights and ancestral lands of the Zeliangrong people. The group warned that it would use all lawful means to counter intimidation or manipulation. It further urged all organizations to prioritize truth and accountability to maintain regional stability.
