Kohima: Zapu-o Zhasa formally accepted his new role as Vice President of the Naga National Council during a reception at the Kigwema Village Council Hall this Saturday. He pledged to serve the organization with focus and asked for support from fellow party members to push their shared agenda forward.
Zhasa credited his start in the Naga national movement to the influence of Neilhouny Yhokha and A Z Phizo. He told the crowd that his village values of honesty and courage shaped his public career. "I am a servant of the people," he stated, promising to stick to the collective vision of the Naga community.
NNC Central Executive Committee member Zapuvisie Lhousa reminded those gathered that the movement began as a way to protect Naga dignity and identity. He argued that even with internal disagreements, the commitment to their history must stay strong. Village leaders and local officials echoed this call for unity throughout the event.
