NPF Consolidates Power in Jangpetkong Following NDPP Merger

Kohima: The Naga People's Front reorganized its party units in the 29 Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency on July 10. Leaders administered the oath of allegiance to new office-bearers in Waromung village and Alongkima town. This move follows the merger of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party into the NPF earlier this year.

29 Jangpetkong NPF president Aodangnok Ozukum oversaw the ceremonies. Local MLA and Advisor for Transport and Technical Education Temjenmenba attended the events. Workers also hoisted party flags at the homes of unit treasurers. The process signals a total end to local political friction.

Party leaders stated the transition required "sacrifices and accommodations" from members on both sides. Temjenmenba claimed the merger protects Naga identity and interests by building a single, stronger regional platform. He also cited the move as necessary for the long-term benefit of the state.

Temjenmenba discussed road construction and preparations for the upcoming Ao Students' Conference anniversary in Waromung. He pushed for grassroots unity to ensure effective representation. Ozukum told the new office-bearers the oath is a binding commitment to the party's future. The NPF plans to continue these restructuring efforts across the constituency to prepare for the next election.
