West Garo Hills Police Arrest Three in Major Heroin Bust

Shillong: The West Garo Hills Anti-Narcotics Task Force arrested three drug traffickers during a sting operation in Tikrikilla on June 15. The operation resulted in the seizure of 53 grams of heroin, along with two motorcycles and three mobile phones used by the suspects.

Authorities identified the detainees as 35-year-old Sahidul Hussain, 35-year-old Saddam Hussain, and 23-year-old Rashidul Hoque. All three men are residents of Goalpara, Assam. Officials moved to apprehend the group after receiving a specific tip-off regarding their activities in the area. The heroin was found stored inside five plastic soap boxes.

The suspects currently face charges under the NDPS Act at the Tikrikilla police station. Investigators believe the men are linked to an inter-state organized crime syndicate. The task force is now asking the public to come forward with information about the suspects or their potential accomplices. The agency promised that "the identity of informants will be kept secret and suitable rewards will be provided."
