Itanagar: The United Christian Forum (UCF) has formally reached out to Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, expressing grave concern regarding the worsening security situation in the state. In a letter dated April 25, UCF spokesperson Tiko Teki described the ongoing unrest as a significant humanitarian crisis, characterized by tragic loss of life, widespread destruction of property, and the mass displacement of families. The forum noted that the pervasive atmosphere of fear has severely eroded the spirit of coexistence and mutual trust among communities.

Highlighting the plight of the vulnerable, the forum stressed that the poor, the elderly, and children are bearing the heaviest toll of the conflict. The UCF statement lamented that even sacred spaces have been impacted, further deepening the collective trauma of the populace. Teki called upon the government to take decisive action to restore the rule of law and protect the safety of all citizens, emphasizing that silence in the face of such suffering is no longer a viable option.

Beyond its appeal to the government, the UCF urged major civil society organizations—including the United Naga Council, the Kuki Inpi Manipur, and the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity—to unite in efforts to restore peace. Drawing upon core humanitarian and spiritual values, the forum advocated for transcending community and identity divisions to foster compassion. Citing foundational teachings of love and service to others, the organization insisted that current decisions will define the state's moral future, urging all parties to prioritize human dignity and a shared path toward lasting stability.
