Agartala: Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar will arrive in Tripura on May 31. This stop is part of a three-day tour spanning Mizoram, West Bengal, and Tripura, where the minister will meet with local governments to discuss developments in the power and urban planning sectors.

During his time in Agartala, Khattar will attend events celebrating six years of the PM SVANidhi scheme. This central government initiative provides affordable working capital loans to street vendors to help them recover from the economic impacts of the pandemic, while also promoting digital transactions and financial inclusion.

The minister plans to hold extensive meetings with Power Department officials to inspect the state's electricity infrastructure. His review will focus on improving rural electrification, upgrading urban power grids, and addressing ongoing challenges in supply management and distribution. Khattar may also tour critical power facilities to monitor project progress and ensure more reliable service delivery across the state.
