Union Minister Distributes Appointment Letters at Dimapur Rozgar Mela

Kohima: Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Pabitra Margherita, distributed appointment letters to 129 new recruits during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela in Dimapur. The event at Town Hall saw the gathering join a nationwide live telecast where Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the recruitment drive. Nationwide, the initiative resulted in the distribution of more than 51,000 appointment letters, contributing to a total of over 11 lakh letters issued through previous editions of the program.

During the ceremony, Margherita praised the government's approach to transparent and fast-tracked job creation. He highlighted the significant transformation in the North-East, noting that the region has evolved from a remote frontier into a major driver of economic growth. The minister pointed to a 235 percent increase in the budgetary allocation for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region since 2013, alongside major expansions in highways, airports, and water transport.

Addressing railway development, the minister stated that funding for Nagaland and the broader North-East region has grown more than fivefold since 2009. He cited the recent opening of Shokhuvi, the state's second railway station, as a landmark achievement. Margherita encouraged the new appointees to embrace their roles with dedication to help realize the vision of a developed India by 2047. The event concluded with the formal handover of all remaining appointment orders by local officials.
