Two Arrested After Assam Police Seize Narcotics and Air Pistol in Nagaon

Guwahati: Police in Assam arrested two men in Nagaon district on suspicion of drug peddling after a coordinated operation by Dhing and Dumdumia officers. The suspects, identified as Jahirul Islam and Ejazul Islam, were detained by local residents in Langia who became suspicious of their activities. The citizens held the pair until authorities arrived to take them into custody.

During the operation, officers recovered seven containers of suspected narcotics, an air pistol, two mobile phones, and a motorcycle. Authorities stated, "Interrogation of the two suspects is underway to ascertain the source of the suspected drugs and uncover possible links to a wider narcotics network operating in the region."

The seized motorcycle, a Glamour model registered as AS 02 H 7569, and other items are now held as evidence. Investigators are currently processing the case to determine the full extent of the suspects' involvement in local drug distribution. Legal proceedings against both men are ongoing as the investigation continues.
